I've only used these twice but am satisfied so far. I bought them for snowshoeing and ordered XL because I have sorel type boots. They fit fine, including the strap that goes under the boot. Hope they hold up.

I used these with my new snowshoes. They were great, keeping the snow from infiltrating my pants and boots. Usually the snow gathers on my socks and melts into my hiking boots but even with 17" of new powder I stayed dry.

Comments about Outdoor Products Threshold Back Country Gaiters:

This is my first pair of gaiters, so I have no experience with other brands or styles. The only problem I've had with them has been the fastener for the shock cord.. It has pulled out on one of the gaiters a number of times. Other than that, the lace hook and velcro closure have worked the half a dozen times I've worn them.

Comments about Outdoor Products Threshold Back Country Gaiters:

I've used these gaiters on three snowshoeing adventures, and they can't be more perfect. They fit over my winter hiking boots. The strap that goes under the boot is very sturdy, and has always stayed put. The latch at the bottom fits perfectly into my Garmont boots. I've used these gaitors with hiking boots without a gaiter latch, and they also work just as well.
They are easy to put on (the velcro front comes in handy), the snaps are well made, and they have never budged during use.
I can't list a single thing wrong with this product.

Comments about Outdoor Products Threshold Back Country Gaiters:

I've been looking for gaitors that will fit over my big honkin Sorrels (size 13). Most won't go around the boot at all. These do just barely go around the boot and the shoelace strap engages well. There is no way the strap will go under the boot, but they fit tightly enough that I might not need that strap. If I do, I'll just lengthen it with some paracord or leather.
Overall, I haven't found any gaitors that fit these boots, so I'm not disappointed in the fit and am rating these based on the fact that they work with these big cold weather boots and will still work with my smaller hiking boots.

Comments about Outdoor Products Threshold Back Country Gaiters:

these worked well at keeping out about six inches of powdery snow while I was showshoeing. I could not figure out how to loop the elastic on the bottom around my boots since it didn't seem long enough, but the other elastic at the bottom, and the velcro, worked fine. I could have used an instruction but I'm a newbie so maybe these are obvious to the experienced outdoor person

Comments about Outdoor Products Threshold Back Country Gaiters:

I have used these gaiters strictly for snow, in which they are awesome, but I'm sure they would be effective for hiking in steep scree, too. They've been used in temperatures varying from about 35 degrees F to -40 degrees, and are easy to put on and use in any temperature (provided you don't remove your gloves--which you shouldn't need to do--and freeze your fingers).
