While both the lightweight EVA midsole and suede and Cordura uppers seek to lighten the load, the Active Heel Support (ACH) element absorbs shocks and minimizes fatigue.

The Asolo Women's Atlantis Gore-Tex Waterproof Backpacking Boot would not work with step in crampons for occasional ice climbing. Strap on crampons would work better.
