Best Uses Comments about Asolo Men's Flame Gore-Tex Waterproof Backpacking Boot: I think these boots are designed for backpacking with a heavy pack, not just hiking. They're very firm and stiff. However, the out-soles seem like they'll wear out quickly if you spend much time on rocky terrain,or concrete. If you're concerned with appearance, the boots look very narrow and pointy. I also felt like I was wearing "platforms" when I had them on. Other than that, they are very well constructed, and the boots themselves will probably outlast the out-soles 2-3 times over, if you're willing to put out the cash for re-soling.(there are few cobblers in the US that re-sole hiking boots)
