Comments about Danner Men's 453 GTX Hiker - Wide:

I travel around the country for work, and seek out the most aggressive trails I can find. The ONLY time I wished for more, was an 8-mile hike in 2' of fresh powder.(no gaiters made for soaked and frozen toes) Otherwise, I've scrambled and hiked some extremely rough trails with never a moment of disappointment. Once rolled my ankle off a curb, walking to my truck, after sprinting down Camelback Mtn... My fault completely. LOL

Comments about Danner Men's 453 GTX Hiker - Wide:

I bought these boots about 3 months before I hiked the Paintbrush Divide loop in the Grand Tetons. I have the sissiest feet of any man i know. I get hot spots really easy on my heels and in the past my dogs get tired at about 4 miles.

With these bad boys + Gel insole - I made it up 3000ft of elevation over about 6.5 miles the first day on the trip. Right away I felt like I had made the right purchase. About 26 miles later I knew I did.

That was nearly 2 years ago and I still wear these boots. They are still in great shape and I wear them through the winter here in Richmond VA and camping in spring/fall.

I also have a pair of Danner work boots. I will never purchase any other brand boot. I am a Danner customer for life. As long as they keep making quality boots.

Bought just before a 18 day trip to Everest base camp very easy to break in . Like the tread heels grip down hill toe grips up hill , pattern keeps you from tripping on rocks & roots . Boot still in good shape but stitching wore out behind little toe . I also replaced my merrells with this boot . Over all good boot

I'd give a five star if the lace-up rings lasted longer and did not cut the laces. Great for day hikes, streamside fishing, everyday use.

Comments about Danner Men's 453 GTX Hiker - Wide:

This boot has been great. I put it on and hiked 41 miles on the AT in 4 days with a 51 lb. pack and no blisters. I did not even break them in before I went out! My old Merrel boots came apart last year and caused me blisters every year before that. These boot uppers are stitched to the sole. I bet they won't come apart like my Merrels did.
