Comments about Vasque Wide Wasatch Gore-tex Medium Weight Backpacking Boot - Men's: I use these boots only for hiking. I have flat feet, and these boots have room enough for my arch supports. They are comfortable and supportive enough to use when carrying an overnight backpack over rocky and steep trails. I particularly like the ample padding over the ankle bones. Pros

Comments about Vasque Wide Wasatch Gore-tex Medium Weight Backpacking Boot - Men's: I got these a day before trekking 23 miles through the High-Peaks region of the Adirondaks. I have a wide foot, and these fit perfectly. I was concerned about the break in, but my concerns were unfounded. Paired with some nice wool socks, my feet were absolutely comfortable through day 1 and 9 miles. Day 2, I felt hotspots on my big toes, but nothing unbearable and more importantly, NO BLISTERS! Climbing more than 45 degrees on slick rock was not a problem at all. The Vibram soles are fantastic on most surfaces. The extra padding saved my ankles when I slipped on a wet log going uphill and smashed my ankle on a sharp rock. No pain, no twist. Walking through streams was a breeze, the boot is waterproof up top about an inch from the top of the tounge. Laces are of good quality and the mid foot lace locks take the frustration out of groggy early-morning lace up. I highly recommend!

Comments about Vasque Wide Wasatch Gore-tex Medium Weight Backpacking Boot - Men's: Boot has a durable upper and eyelets but has poor traction on wet surfaces and the plastic reinforcing plate embedded in the sole causes the sole to crack prematurely.

Comments about Vasque Wide Wasatch Gore-tex Medium Weight Backpacking Boot - Men's: These boots need no break-in period. The nubuck leather is flexible, right out of the box.

Comments about Vasque Wide Wasatch Gore-tex Medium Weight Backpacking Boot - Men's: These boots fit well and provide good support for most trails. They don't seem to have any pressure points like some boots I've had. The in-sole could be a bit more cushioned, but not bad. They seem water-tight from snow and slush. Haven't used them in hot weather yet, so can't say how they perform under those conditions. Thus far, they seem like a good boot. Hope they hold up over time.

Comments about Vasque Wide Wasatch Gore-tex Medium Weight Backpacking Boot - Men's: I hike or backpack a little every month, all weather. i have hard to fit EE feet. this boots width has proven true in the toe box, a little tight in the instep. breakin was quick, no poped stitches or seams. the sole and platform are stable though a bit stiffer than other mid weight boots. Owned a pair of sundowners for 15 years before they came apart, hoping for the same quality in this pair.

Comments about Vasque Wide Wasatch Gore-tex Medium Weight Backpacking Boot - Men's: This Vasque product fits the bill if you are looking for a medium duty hiking boot. I bought two pair to use here in the higher elevations in the Mojave Desert. Needless to say, these boots get a work out in this environment and I am able to carry relatively heavy loads over granite and basalt and sand with good stability and arch/ankle support. These boots are made for hiking and are the best in class. I have tried them all. Vasque hit a home run with these.

Q:
I measure 10 1/2, D for boots. I bought 10 1/2 medium Merrell Perimneter boots and they were extremely narrow in the toe box area. What does 10 1/2 "medium" mean in letter size for Merrell and do they make a wide...and what size is "wide" in letter size. I also need the same information for Vasque Wasatch.2 answers
A:
Medium means D. Wide is normally EE. This size and width naming protocol are the same in bot the Merrel and the Vasque. The Wasatch has a wider toe box than the Perimeter. This wider toe box will be in both the wide and the regular width.A:
