Comments about Asolo Women's Stynger GTX Waterproof Light Hiking & Trekking Boots: I bought these for my hike of Mt Kilimanjaro. I didn't really have a lot of time to break them in (I did maybe 10-20 miles of hiking in them before heading to Africa). I had my feet sized in REI and then came to this website because the price was cheaper. I bought for my larger foot (9.5). That foot was a little snug, but not tight. I never once got a blister or hot spot. I did wear smartwool liner socks and hiking socks. I tried the REI brand hiking socks and they weren't as comfortable after about an hour. These boots were amazing. I put them through a lot and they met every challenge. I highly recommend them!

Q:
I have a wide foot how will this boot fit for me? How do I keep it waterproof?1 answer
A:
The Asolo Stynger runs wide, and has a GTX lining so you can treat it with Nikwax or ReviveX after a year's worth of use.Q:
Will these boots accomodate a custom orthotic?1 answer
A:
The Asolo Women's Stynger GTX Waterproof Light Hiking & Trekking Boots has a removable insole so that you can insert your orthotic.Q:
Will these boots work well for hiking the John Muir Trail, including high, rocky passes as well as the trail up Mt. Whitney?1 answer
A:
This boot is too lightweight to provide the proper support for that kind of trekking. Campmor recommends a medium weight boot which will have a more sturdy sole and more supportive structure such as the Vasque Wasatch or Vasque Summit boot, items 11352 and 11344.Q:
I have a narrow foot. Do I need to buy a specialized boot that is narrow fitting or are these boots okay. I can wear medium width boots if I am going to wear thick socks which I will in these boots as I climb Kilimanjaro. My feet tend to get cold so thick socks are commonplace for me and maybe even 2 pairs so I don't need very narrow fitting boots (like I would a dress shoe) but don't want too wide as I need some support.1 answer
A:
The Asolo Stynger runs wide, therefore it will not accomodate a narrow fit even if worn with a thicker sock.
