Comments about Asolo Mens FSN 95 GTX Lightweight Hiking Boots - Medium Width:

I take a lot of day hikes and do several AT backpacking trips each year and was looking for a good year round boot for upstate NY weather conditions. I have a wide foot so I ordered the wide size which was great. I normally wear a size 11, but went with the 11.5 so I could fit heavier socks. These fit perfectly after a very short break in period. They are slightly heavy and a little stiff, I don't mind thought becuase they sure give you a feeling of support and stability.

Read some negative comments regarding the traction. I have not had that problem, but if you wear these for work on paved or concrete surfaces, I would imagine the soles will get worn sooner.

I like the fact that these are about the only boots not made in China (they are made in Romania). I wish there were more options for made in USA boots, but the Danners did not impress.

I also have very high arches and used to need Othodic inserts. I have been wearing these boots without any inserts and so far, no problems with the Plantars Facaitis.

I'm very cirictal of anything I spend my money on, so a 4 star from me is probably someone elses "5".

Comments about Asolo Mens FSN 95 GTX Lightweight Hiking Boots - Medium Width:

After trekking for two months in the Israeli desert (the shoes where new when i started), the stitches where almost all worn, the soles where almost gone and one of them had a hole in it. I didn't have any weight on my back the hole time. I had to discontinue the use since the grip was poor. Very disappointing and not worth the money.

Comments about Asolo Mens FSN 95 GTX Lightweight Hiking Boots - Medium Width:

These boots have taken anything I have thrown at them. I have owned them for over a year and a half and have put them through a wide variety of conditions. They have kept my feet warm and dry in the rainy redwoods and are comfortable enough for everyday use. I used them when I worked as a wilderness ranger in the High Sierra and they have carried a 60 pound pack with ease. The boots now have over 600 miles on them and are still preforming great in the beautiful high deserts of Nevada. These have been on glaciers, sand, mud and everything in-between and still have some good miles in them. I don't know if I'll ever buy another boot.

Great boots, great fit! Have had a pair of these for years (or nearly identical). Put many miles on - they hold up well, and my feet are always happy. Found them a bit too warm in Florida, but they do great in the cold and snow (with gaiters).

Comments about Asolo Mens FSN 95 GTX Lightweight Hiking Boots - Medium Width:

I've had my pair for about 2 years now. They are the best hiking boots i've ever worn. I've worn Vasque, Danner, Merrell etc. but Asolo are the best out of all for everyday to long hikes. They are actually pretty warm down to the freezing point, have'nt tried them in sub-freezing weather here in Ga. Thinking about buying a second pair in case they are discontinued for a newer line.

I want to purchase a boot for everyday use and so again do these boots fit true to size? You didn't answer the man’s question!
I'd like to not wear two pair of socks when I wear these boots.
I have a bad ankle (broke my foot completely off playing BB 30yrs ago)and need the support of a high boot.
I have Vasque boots for hiking, need a boot for outdoor daily work that'll protect my ankle.

As long as you have a regular men's D width these run true to size.

true to size more so than a lot of Asolo's because it has a wider toe box and is longer
