Comments about Timberland Men's White Ledge Light Hiking Boots:

Great, well-made, pair of boots. This is my second pair! First pair was purchased in 2007. The only reason I had to buy a new pair is because I wore a hole in the leather where the side of leather uppers meets the sole of the boot on one boot. Great boot! Will probably buy my third pair once these wear out in about 7 more years.

Comments about Timberland Men's White Ledge Light Hiking Boots:

I've had the chance to break in these boots and do several days of hiking across lava fields. Although I can't yet speak to water-resistance, the boots broke in over a couple of walks around the neighborhood and were great during my time in the field. These boots made a world of difference in terms of foot fatigue and held up well to being cut up by jagged lava rock. Good arch support- i didn't need to use in-soles. Great value.

I have a pair and this was a gift for my son (his second pair). His didn't wear out but after 4 years...they could walk on their own if you know what i mean. Can't wear these things out. Excellent ankly support and heavy enough sole to take rocks. Some designs you just can't improve on and this is one of them.

Bought two months early for a Brooks Range Alaska expedition. Tub tested and wet hiked them extensively before departure; all well. One week into expedition in Angiaak Pass en route to the Kobuk River via the Reed, they started leaking and from then on leaked badly; both boots. Bears took one of my Chota Mukluks, so I was left with no waterproof boots for three weeks.

This is my 4th pair in eight years. They are very durable and long lasting. The tread will wear smooth long before the leather uppers will fail. Awesome boot for every day use and day hikes. Remember to apply waterproof boot dressing to keep the leather from drying out and cracking.

Generally it is wise to go up a 1/2 size due to the swelling of feet on longer hikes.
