Comments about Wigwam CoolMax Liner Socks:

I have used under socks for years camping and general use. These socks feel fine. It'll take time before I know if they are durable. However, I still have and use under socks of a different sort that I bought from Campmoor five or more years ago.

Comments about Wigwam CoolMax Liner Socks:

Great fit. I had several pairs of the same socks that are now over 10 years old--they started to get thin around the heal and toe (no complaints after all those years), so I searched to find more. Comfortable liner under wool socks when wearing hiking boots. Good price!

Comments about Wigwam CoolMax Liner Socks:

Purchased for use as a liner sock for backpacking. Used them for the first time last weekend on a 25 mile / 2 day hike on the Standing Indian Loop in North Carolina. They were comfortable under wool boot socks. They dried quickly after taking off my boots at the end of the day and showed no sign of wear after 25 miles of rugged terrain. They seem to have held up much, much better than the house brand cool max liners I've purchased from a major outdoor retailer. These will be my go to liners for backpacking.

The wigwam liners that I already have are a little thinner and more supple than these. As long as boots are not already snug, they should be fine.

Coolmax is the service mark, not how they feel. They feel hotter than cotton, even hotter than wool. I'll wear them in winter, when I don't sweat a lot.

                                  A:

Coolmax is a wicking fiber made from polyester. Wigwam claims that the technology behind Coolmax will help dissipate excess heat. If you wear this sock by itself, your feet will stay very cool. If you wear this with an outer sock for hiking, your feet will be warm, and any sweat that occurs will be wicked away from the skin to the outer sock.
