I have worn these socks everywhere and only have two complaints... lack of color options and vendors seem to be sold out of my size quite often (9.5 mens shoe). I have tried many sock brands and have now found a reliable go to sock. I like that they are Made in USA too.

Comments about Darn Tough Vermont Merino Wool Crew Socks Full Cushion: I splurged on these hiking socks because of great experience with a lighter pair and because they're made in the U.S., in New England. Their maiden voyage was the complete Mt. Katahdin loop, an exceptionally long and rugged day-hike, with my medium-weight La Sportiva boots. They fit exceptionally well, and hot-spots (and a general desire to plunge my feet in a creek) towards the end of the hike were probably to be expected. They are not SO cushioned that you wouldn't want an insole, however, but most boots now come with insoles. This is the best of modern hiking socks.
