Comments about Outdoor Research Rocky Mountain Low Gaiters:

I use these with low top hiking shoes. They work good to keep debris out of my shoes which was the intent. They are a little difficult to put on and tend to slide down a lot. On a side note my shoe size (12) is near the top end of what they say it fits, so that may be an issue.

Purchased these Gaiters for a litter warm weather version that the OR Veritas. I have a size 13 foot, and these gaiters were pretty much at the maximum. I did 35 miles round trip over some pretty rough terrain, and the gaiters held up great. My only gripe is the small size. They would great gaiters for someone with a size 11 or smaller boot.

At first, they seemed backwards to put them on, when compared to my full length winter gaiters. But, I figured it out, and now they are pretty easy to put on.
I haven't yet used them hiking, but have worn them a couple times while using a chainsaw. They work great keeping sawdust out of my boots!

Even in the large size, they bunched awkwardly around the boot and pant cuff. I sold them to a lady and she is pleased with the fit. I will stick to my regular over the calf length gaiters regardless of the season.

Since size 9 is the cut off for a M and a L has size 9 in the center of the size range go with a L.
