Comments about Outdoor Research Men's Foray Gore-Tex Waterproof Jacket: I live in Argentina and had the chance to try this Jacket on the Cordillera Mountains only once. Altitude was around 4.400 meters above sea. Weather was not so cold and no rain, so I cannot tell if the jacket is truly water resistant. But I can tell for sure that wind conditions was very extreme and the jacket performed very well. Also, very important fact is that it is truly lightweight, I almost didn't notice I was wearing the jacket!!. Also very important was the color I choose, because my mountain mates could see me on the mountain from far away. Zips works fantastic, and torso-open zip is very useful, I could test this feature as well, it helps for moisture away in areas where the wind stop, so you do not need to put the jacket off, you simply unzip the jacket from both sides under your arm. Also could test the hood, which I felt comfortable and really wind-stopper. There is room to underwear a goose-dawn jacket also, so in case the weather is so cold. I am very stisfied with this product. My girlfriend wants one of them!.

Bought for a business trip to China performed flawlessly as business casual jacket and for tourism shell. I am 6'-3" and 275lbs 2X fit perfect. Love the hood and integrated visor. Used the zipper vents a few times as activity vs. 100% RH and rain combated each other. Vent supplemented breath-ability nicely. 3rd OR purchase will be looking to OR 1st over some of the brands I used go to 1st. Keep it up OR!!

Full length pit zips are great (although a little hard to operate one-handed). Worn for 10 days on a Quetico canoe trip in late May/early June--lots of rain and wind and rough portaging with heavy packs--stayed total dry. The hood is a little noisy but I'll live with it.

His decade-old Gore Tex rain jacket had lost its effectiveness and he was drenched in a sudden Himalayan rain shower - good thing we made it through to the sun before hypothermia. There's no need to be in that situation. I had a lightweight Gore Tex jacket that performed beautifully and now he does, too.
