Comments about The North Face Men's Waterproof Breathable Venture Pants - Short 30" Inseam: My gf got me these pants for Christmas to take on trips to Costa Rica and England in the coming year. The pants fit a little small and long, so I ended up exchanging a large regular length for the extra large short length; I wanted extra room for layers underneath. I think the new ones will be great for throwing on as a top layer in damp or cool conditions. The pants don't breathe super well, but I've yet to find a dependable pair of waterproof pants that aren't do. The best part about these pants is that they are super light weight and easily fold up into almost nothing in your pack. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product and will be using them for years.

Comments about The North Face Men's Waterproof Breathable Venture Pants - Short 30" Inseam: I wouldn't call this light enough to stuff in the backpack just in case. There are lighter versions elsewhere. These pants are medium weight, but not bulky. They come in different lengths, so that is a huge plus. When the inseam is too long, things get muddy and worn out quickly. When pants are the right length, it is just plain better. I have short legs and fish a lot in foggy conditions where everything is cold and wet. When you sit down, the seats are dripping but these will keep my butt dry.
