The mesh on this product is very effective at screening out the bugs that most plague me- Asian Tiger Mosquitoes (tho I do need to wear gloves to protect my hands). As I absolutely hate using insect repellent all the time, this is perfect. I expect it would work just as well against ticks.

  Yes, it covers most of the face without over doing it to the point it is uncomfortable. I used a slightly more expensive bug shirt several years ago that had a lot more coverage over the face (but was so uncomfortable that I always left the hood down).
