The MSR Hubba is a classic lightweight 1 person backpacking tent. It is spacious and easy to set up. Ultralight materials like a ripstop sil-nylon fly, DAC Featherlite SL aluminum poles and super light Hubs make the Hubba roomy for 1 but very light. 2 hubs join all the poles to make a single pole set that attaches to the tent in seconds via post and grommet and clips. The clips combine with the all no see um mesh body to provide great ventilation and stargazing opportunities. The doors are designed so that even in pouring rain the tent interior will stay dry as you move in or out of the tent. At under 3.5 lbs. the Hubba is very light and even has a large vestibule for stowing excess gear and wet boots. It is also versatile as it can be set up with a fly only pitch with or without the optional nylon ground cloth. This tent is a favorite with long distance hikers. And now with a more natural green fly color you can blend right into the scenery.
  • Sleeps 1
  • Main fly and floor seams are factory taped for extreme weather protection
  • Bathtub floor keeps seams off the ground

I bicycle tour from four to twelve weeks a year and I' m always looking for the best and lightest gear at an affordable price. I've used this tent on two four night trips and so far I like it better than any other that I have owned. This is a great one person tent.

Main cons: Smells funky when you first use it (that goes away), blew over (while I was sleeping inside!) in EXTREMELY high winds.

Main pros: very waterproof, only one pole so its not easy to lose, neutral color, light weight, compact

Comments about MSR Hubba 1 Person Tent:

This is a first look. I set it up yesterday. Whats immediately apparent is; It's very light, its roomy (I'm 6 feet and there's plenty of room), Its easy to set up, the hub set on the poles is great, the vestibule is ample, the zippers are super smooth.

There are no gear pockets inside and no provisions for a gear loft. There are grommets, tabs, barfifs and weasel pins attached at random places inside the tent. Perhaps there is a point to them but I couldnt figure it out.

I bought this tent to replace a bivy sack, too small and a two person tent, too large. It fits perfectly.

Sets up easily, lightweight but strong superior coating, seams sealed, smallish vestibule, but to be expected in a one man tent. My son is 6'2" and can sit up comfortable inside the tent. This one gives you your money's worth and them some.

                    A:

The green piece of pole is a splint for the tent poles in case they break. The stakes do not come with loops.

                    A:

The tents that we sell are not rated by wind speed. However, the MSR Hubba 1 person tent will witthstand most windy conditions like any other tent of this type. (3-3.5 season) However, it's not designed to withstand sustained high winds.
