Since it rains everyday we needed something that we could easily pull out of a back pack that would protect us from the rain and then be easily stored again. Haven't used them yet but it fits in it's own pocket and compactly in the back pack. I would maybe order one size larger than I needed if I were wearing a heavy sweater/sweatshirt underneath. Fits good with just a shirt underneath but a little snug with something heavier as I will be doing. Will also using when camping here in the US and I think it will be perfect for that weather.
