I used these for the first time on a backpacking trip into Kalalau, Kauai. They kept me from freezing after a wet day-hike & returning to a rainy campsite. They're light, compact, and just the right weight for Hawaii temps. a pair of leggings underneath would make these really toasty. The full-zip design is great for getting these on and off quickly & easily, even if you already have other pants on. However, the sizing is really small in the waist. I have the precip jacket in XS & S - both are really roomy so I was expecting a decent fit with the pants in a S. I usually wear a 0 or 2 in pants - the precip S was tight without having other pants/shorts underneath. The pants are roomy in the legs and hips but the waist was just way too tight for comfort. I'm hoping I can exchange these for another size.

I usually wear a Small, but these fit like an extra small. Unfortunately a medium wasn't available, so I had to return the pants.

I bought these pants to replace a heavier rain pant for backpacking purposes. I recently wore them on a grand canyon rim to rim trip and although it rained the entire 13 hours I was dry at the end of the trek. I bought the regular and exchanged them for tall (I'm 5'3") from another store because they were not in stock here and those worked perfectly; the regular were too short and rode up when I bent my legs.

The only con I have is the pants sit on the waist and even though they have velcro adjustable closures, the fit is tight and they dug into my skin under the hip belt of my pack. Other than that the pants performed great, I was impressed with how dry they kept me.

I bought these pants a size up to go over my motorcycle pants. It worked, but was really awkward. The full-length zippers were necessary to go over my boots, but I could not get them zipped myself. You have to be completely straight to get the zippers to go up.
