I toyed around with purchasing a different rain jacket but opted to stick with the proven Precip and bought a replacement. I am just as pleased with the new jacket.

Comments about Marmot Precip Rain Jacket - Women's: If I and my limbs were shorter, this jacket might have been perfect. I only wish it packed a little smaller. I just took it to hike Roraima in Venezuela, and it kept me pretty dry while I was walking through the cloud forest. It was a little short on me (I'm 5'10" and slender) and it kept riding up under my backpack, so the bottom half of me did end up soaked. The drawstring at the bottom was difficult to locate when it was crucial. I live in a very rainy place, and I'm sure it will serve me well for day-to-day use.

Comments about Marmot Precip Rain Jacket - Women's: I needed a lightweight outer layer that would work well in bad weather and i could wear over my work clothes without looking too weird. I also wanted it to double out in the "field". I especially like the hood as I hate to admit it, but I hate messy wet hair all day at work and this hood works well, even in the wind!
