Comments about Marmot Rockaway 20 Degree Sleeping Bag:

I previously had a marmot trestles 15 and it was ver y warm one night I was trapped in the snow and decided to just through down my bivy and rough it. I. Was surprisingly fairly warm all night. However I now am a hammock camper. I bought this bag because it is basically the same as the trestles but roomy I got the bag and am very happy with it except for the weight it says this bag is 3lbs and ounces, I weighed mine and it was 4 lbs. 6 ounces. Other than that I love it. I sleep in the Krishna pose and this gives me plenty of room for that. Has your sleeping bag saved your life?

Comments about Marmot Rockaway 20 Degree Sleeping Bag:

Great bag. I purchased it for a 2 month research expedition on the Juneau Icefield, AK from June-Aug. I needed a lot of new gear and therefor was trying to save money wherever possible. Temp at night stayed around 35 for the most part, but very very wet. Sleeping situation was different every night, sometimes in rugged cabins, also wet tents, or out on the glacier under the stars, all on a ridge rest foam pad. It was extremely windproof, but not very waterproof, although it did dry quickly if left out in the rare sunlight. I was cold many nights but I know it was because my clothes and hair were often wet from rain. Also very durable, as it sometimes accidentally rubbed up against nails in the wall or splinters in the wood, and never snagged.

I used it again on a research trip to Colorado in June. I was very warm up to ~10,000ft, got chilly above that, up to 12,800ft where temps dropped into the mid 20's. BUT it was a very dry climate, so it was easy to warm up.

It is VERY roomy, which makes it really comfortable to sleep in, although it's a little harder to fill the whole thing with body heat. I'm 5'11 and it helped a lot to stuff the bottom with clothes (I have the long size and there's at least 10" of space at the bottom). Plus that helps warm up/dry out clothes for the morning!

I used a 90L Kelty pack in Alaska and it fit easily in the sleeping bag compartment. Pretty lightweight and small for the price! I also have an Osprey Exos 46L pack that it does NOT fit in.

Roomy and warm. Packs small. A good medium between mummy bags and full rectangular bags. I wish it came it other colors. If you are taller than 5'-10 then might want to consider getting the large. A good buy for its intended use.

Comments about Marmot Rockaway 20 Degree Sleeping Bag:

So I needed a bag that didn't make me feel like I was in a coffin. This one was roomy. I'm 250lbs and 6'1". This is replacing my NorthFace Trinity sleeping bag. The zipper snags a little too easily but its an easy fix that even in the middle of the night and half asleep I was able to handle. It was VERY warm and comfortable. I was able to stuff it in my pack.

A great choice. Just used it on a 3-day backcountry trip. Super comfortable and light, but wish it packed down a wee bit smaller. It will be great for car camping and other short backcountry trips.

In the specs section, the measurments for the stuff size of the bag shows 9.5x9.5. My question is, would that be 9.5 diameter and 9.5 height of the stuffed bag once compressed? Thank you for the help!

                A:

9.5" x 9.5" is diameter x length. This is the compressed size.
