Comments about Kelty Yukon 50 External Frame Pack: used it on a boyscout hike

Comments about Kelty Yukon 50 External Frame Pack: I just used this backpack for a 2-week trip through the Amazon and to Roraima in Venezuela. I was surprised by how much room it has. It's absolutely easy to load and I love all the pockets. The weight feels distributed really well, making the backpack extremely comfortable to wear on long hikes. I would have put rubber stoppers at the bottom of the frame so it would stand up more easily against a wall. It'd also be nice if it had some sort of straps under the compartments to attach a sleeping bag.

Comments about Kelty Yukon 50 External Frame Pack: Much more comfortable than the internal frame packs that I have used. I like the added comfort although I do notice a slight loss of freedom of maneuver. But, I'm used to it now and this pack is great. I can carry a bigger load more in comfort. I'm kind of a slow and steady hiker and this pack works great for that kind of travel. I stick to paths and trails too.

Comments about Kelty Yukon 50 External Frame Pack: Good value for outfitting your "Clan". We have 8 to outfit and this fit the bill for high value but not high end.

Q:
Is it possible to obtain women's shoulder straps for Kelty external frame packs and a men's hipbelt?1 answer
A:
Sorry, we are unable to substitute shoulder straps or hipbelts for backpacks.Q:
Is this one suitable for a 14-15 yr.old (8th grade) Boy Scout who is husky, on the tall side?1 answer
A:
The belt on the Yukon will open to 45" so it should accommodate your 14-15 year old. Whether this fits length wise is a function of torso length. The torso length for this pack is 16"-21".. Just measure him by: Have a friend measure your back. Stand with your back to them and your hands on your hips like you are scolding someone. Your thumbs will point to a stop on your lower spine. Start from this point and measure up to the C-7 vertebrae, which is the one that sticks out of the back of your neck when you touch your chin to your chest. The measurement between these 2 points is your torso length.Q:
