Comments about Kelty Noah's Staff - Aluminum Pole:

Very light pole that snapped in half during the first use in moderate Adirondack winds. I would recomend the Kelty adjustable for a little more money.

Comments about Kelty Noah's Staff - Aluminum Pole:

This is the second Noah's staff for my 12x12 Noah's tarp. I wanted to have added setup versatility without having to rely on trees, tent, etc. I use this mostly car or motorcycle camping and like the small fold down size. I would not recommend it with larger or heavier tarps. Go with the 1" Noah's Pole for larger tarps.

Won't stand up to the wind

Comments about Kelty Noah's Staff - Aluminum Pole:

Bent in the wind the first time we used it on a Noah's Tarp 16 (Also a piece of junk). The adjustable version is heavy duty and works great!! About twice as solid as this flimsy thing. Don't waste your money on this one, get the adjustable.

Comments about Kelty Noah's Staff - Aluminum Pole:

Took this out to Sturgis S.D. on a 6 day minimilist style camping trip. I set up a tarp with the Kelty pole elevating one corner with the opposite corner anchored to the top of a fence post and placed my bivy tent underneath. Remaining corners were anchored in the ground. This thing held up to a thunderstorm with hail. I saw the pole flex some at the joints, but it never gave out. I chose this pole specifically because it fit inside a hard saddlebag when collapsed and with my luck, if I hadn't bought it, we would have been setting up in a hay field with no trees or fences in sight. Thanks, Kelty and Thanks, Campmor!

Comments about Kelty Noah's Staff - Aluminum Pole:

i actually never got them becasue they were back ordered, so i ordered the adjustable ones instead. if they are like them then they are probably great, it is really nice to have the adjustable ones though. maybe worth the extra $$ the tips have started to rust already though...

Can this pole be cut down into many different pieces and still retain its original strength? Would this pole work well in a ball and socket joint? Thank you.

            A:

The Kelty Noah's Staff as sold is not designed to be modified by cutting it, it probably would not work well in a ball and socket joint.
