A friend stationed in Afghanistan asked me to send him a sleeping bag with a compression sack. Is a stuff sack the same thing? Also, he already has a bag for very cold weather. Is this one good for warmer/hot weather? I know nothing about sleeping bags but assume that the warmer the rating, the thinner the bag, and it may not be comfortable for sleeping on the ground. A compression bag has straps that decrease the length of the bag for packing into a pack. This sleeping bag does not come with a compression bag. It is more of a 3 season sleeping bag and a bit heavy. You may want to look at:
