Comments about Keen Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiker: These boots are used for hiking in the Eastern Sierra. Both for level hiking as well as mountain hiking. (Whitney and White).

Comments about Keen Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiker: This shoe has a narrow toe box and I'm wearing them as I can, to stretch out/soften the bend at the small toe. Overall a good performing shoe, very comfortable after a significant 7-hour hike up to 3500 ft elevation. I will be wearing with liners to see if this helps with the toe issue.

Comments about Keen Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiker: Love the easy lacing, and the fact they stay tied all day

Cons Best Uses Comments about Keen Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiker: I cannot say enough good things about these boots! I bought them in November 2011 and I wore them in since then for my Mt. Kilimanjaro hike last month. I had Merrills before, and after a while they started to hurt on long hikes. These boots didn't even hurt on summit day when you hike for about 12 hours! They even got hosed down and brushed on the last day and they still kept my feet dry. These are definitely the best hiking boots I have had so far. Absolutely wonderful!

Comments about Keen Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiker: I ordered these boots because a number of satisfied Keen Targhee II Mid boot owners commented on their wide toe box and overall comfort. A wide toe box is a feature I need in shoes and boots, given some foot problems I have. I ordered these (a half-size larger than I normally wear, as others advised to do) and couldn't be more pleased. Just returned from a trip that involved lots of long hikes in these boots. They were comfortable and kept my feet completely dry (and yes, they got soaked in the rain several times!). Highly recommended!

Comments about Keen Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiker: Absolutely the best hiking shoe I ever wore. I use them to trek around the city as I am a jeans person if I am not working. Very COMFORTABLE and pliable shoe, not stiff at all and great arch support for my high arches. They fit like a glove and my feet are never tired in them. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat.

Comments about Keen Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiker: The boots are very comfortable as Keens tend to be, but I have been unpleasantly surprised by how poor the traction is, even on something as un-daring as a wet sidewalk. I am sitting now with my knee on ice after slipping on a patch of ice that was small and rough, something all my other boots would have handled with ease. This is the first time I have not loved a pair of Keens.

Comments about Keen Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiker: I bought these to use for daily hiking with my dog. After 3 months the stitching on the side tore and the waterproof lining gave up. My feet got wet walking in wet grass. I would suggest that these shoes are good for strolling about on dirt roads but should not be used for anything resembling "hiking". They ARE comfy and good looking but I wouldn't call them hiking boots.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Keen Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiker: I have worn Vasque boots fairly successfully, but recently tried a pair of Keen & they were much more comfortable on my feet. I decided to purchase a more rugged model as needed for the type of trips I do, & I think this boot will fit the bill. I have a high-volume foot--meaning I have high arches--& finding boots that work for me has often been challenging. Keen boots seem to have plenty of room in the toebox--another plus. I always see the recommendation to order up a half size, but I always get a half-size bigger hiking boot than my regular street shoes. I wear an 8 shoe, an 8.5 Vasque, & an 8.5 Keen.

Comments about Keen Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiker: Used for work, leading day hikes as interpretive ranger. Comfortable. A bit stiff at the top of the ankles, caused some soreness the first few times worn. No blisters. Maybe just a bit too hot for summertime use, but okay. Definitely needed a half size up from my regular size.

Q:
Do these run small or large? I have a pair of New Balance minimalist and they are size 6. Should I stick with size 6, or go up or down?1 answer
A:
If you intend to use these as a hiking, go up 1/2 size to accommodate a cushioned sock and the swelling of feet when under the load of a long hike.Q:
Is this made with all man-made material, or is there any leather?1 answer

This boot is made with leather.
