Comments about Keen Women' Medium Width Whisper Sandal: This is a great shoe. On our last vacation rather than taking tennis shoes and sandals and I took these and both purposes were served. You should expect sand to get in the shoe but it can be rinsed out and put right back on. They are still comfortable wet.

Comments about Keen Women' Medium Width Whisper Sandal: I have worn these everywhere from Indian Garden (Grand Canyon) to work (State government offices) and I love them. I get lots of compliments. They are extremely comfortable, very versatile and look terrific. After my GC trip I hosed them off in the shower and they looked good as new. I've had them for nearly a year and they look just as nice as when I got them. I can wear them with or without socks, though I prefer socks as, alas, they do acquire the famous 'Keen stink'. But, all things considered, not terribly problematic, you just have to remember to give them a good scrub and leave a few hours for them to dry before the next wear. What I love most about them is they are so functional without, well, being a man's sandal. Being, ahem, of a certain age, I wore mens' sandals for years because I loved how they wore, but UGH they were ugly! This was back in the day when most outdoor products were made for men. I am so pleased that there are now so many great, functional, well-made athletic/outdoors products for women, (and particularly with Keen products, with so many great colors and styles). It hasn't always been so!

Comments about Keen Women' Medium Width Whisper Sandal: Recently traveled to Australia, New Zealand and Figi in thier spring. The only shoe I needed. From beach landings in Figi to hiking at Ayers Rock to the cold in Queensland, this shoe does it all. I wore a wool sock in the colder areas (snow)and still my feet were warm. Others commented on my sandles and how they could be worn everywhere with ease. Do purchase a half size larger than usual shoe size for extra toe room. This is the BEST shoe! Live in the Pacific Northwest with cool weather. Wear with socks in the am and shed the socks if it warms up. Great for wear with skirts to hiking.

Comments about Keen Women' Medium Width Whisper Sandal: Bought these for a stream walk study. I needed to walk up an active stream (rocks, moss, flowing water - read: be ready to fall on your bum). They were comfortable, easy to get into and out of, and fit like a second skin.

The material that makes this sandal up is all hydrophobic meaning that it will not stay wet like a leather or cotton. This makes this a true water shoe. Since there is more enclosure to the foot than a traditional sandal sand can be irritating. Easy to rinse the sane out though.Answered on 7/8/2011 by Steve from Campmor
