Hub broke immediately

Comments about Eureka Titan 2 Room, 2 Door, Luxury Family Tent:

When the tent arrived we went right away to the backyard to put it up and have a look. The hub broke, making it impossible to set up the tent. The hub was not steel, but some inferior type of metal which just snapped. Luckily we were not already at a campground, or we would have had a very bad night. I'm very disappointed with Eureka.

Comments about Eureka Titan 2 Room, 2 Door, Luxury Family Tent:

The tent material is of high quality and held up well to a night of rain. Plenty of space inside. We had four people plus luggage and had room to walk around. The only problem is that a pole broke during the first time of setting it up. I used fiber fix tape to hold it together and it held for three days. I called Eureka and they are sending a replacement pole free of charge but it has nor arrived yet after ten days of waiting. We are avid campers and used our old eureka tent for years and never had a pole break.

Comments about Eureka Titan 2 Room, 2 Door, Luxury Family Tent:

Recently used and after a few tries was able to set up and take down by myself with no trouble unless it was windy. Once one gets the hang of the poles and how to do it it goes easily. Though it does take strength to bend the poles to fit the corner pegs. A weak person may need a helper. Remember to corner peg the first pole then corner peg the exact opposite pole. Lift these poles and add the third pole to the top spider and corner peg this pole. Finally go around and attach the last pole. This one is the most difficult to bend in and corner peg. Best way to attach fly is to install it onto the tent first with no poles on it. Clip it and velcro it on then slide in center pole being careful to try and curve the pole downward so it does not tear fabric. I am tall so I can reach in under the fly and do this. This center pole though may be easier to install first then attach fly to tent. The two end poles are very easy to install while the fly is on the tent. The tent is very roomy and tall. I agree that there should be a stake loop under the door where the zippers meet so they can be unzipped easily. If you are sensitive to smells you might plan to set up the tent and air it out some the first time. My wife and I smelled some vinyl like smell but weren't sure if it was the tent or our mattress (which we had already aired out for a week). Overall I do not think this tent can be beat for its size.

Comments about Eureka Titan 2 Room, 2 Door, Luxury Family Tent:

I have used this tent for 9 years (yes, 9) on Boy Scout camping trips about 8 times a year. It is our leaders tent and typically will have 2-3 adults with cots and gear. It has never been seam sealed and has never leaked. It is a 2 person job to put it up but as you can guess after all this time I really don't think about it. It has been in snow and wind and lite hail with no damage or failure. A 7-8" snowfall requires brushing off the roof and heavy wind requires using the tie downs to stabilize the rainfly. It is getting to the end of it's troop life and will be sold to a family camper for a small donation. Will probably be relaced with another titan. The younger boys have a tough time putting this tent up. However, Each of the leaders has at different times had to erect it by themselves.. not easy but can be done. It is the best large tent we have ever had!

Comments about Eureka Titan 2 Room, 2 Door, Luxury Family Tent:

Overall a nice tent. Lots of room to spread out. Sturdy construction that would be trusted in bad weather. No leaks when it rained.

Changes to make it even better:
-Needs stake at bottom of doors where zipper starts
-Nearly impossible to get rainfly on with single person

Please note the packaging and description say nothing about this tent coming with seam sealer. Instructions say seams should be sealed and recommends specific brands of seam sealer. At the very center of the package it COMES WITH ITS OWN SEAM SEALER (Eureka brand) - found this after separate seam sealer was already purchased. Kind of contradictory, please update description.

Comments about Eureka Titan 2 Room, 2 Door, Luxury Family Tent:

This tent was not so easy to set up. Maybe I'm just used to smaller tents. The poles are sturdy, but it is difficult to get them to bend into position during set up.
Once the tent is set up it is nice. Lots of room and an adult can stand up.

          • Q:

            1) Since this tent does not have an electrical port, how does one bring electricity into the tent? Can an extension cord be zipped in at the bottom of one of the doors without creating an opening for rain?

            2) Someone over at Amazon claiming to own a Titan claims in "Comments" that there is a mesh ceiling vent. This is not my understanding. I am strongly considering the Titan because it can be zipped tight, thus preserving electric heat when it is very cold. Can you confirm that there are no mesh panels in the roof?

            • A:

Doors each have two zippers that you can send a cord through and zip the zippers shut on it at the low corner of door. Since door on each end sent cord through least used door. Once had a problem with tiny ants getting into tent. They were climbing in on the extension cord. Solved by reverse overlapping duct tape onto itself then putting tape on cord where it enters tent and the zippers close on it. Kind of like double face tape. Solved problem

              A:

              1. by bringing in an extension cord through the door you would be able to bring electricity into the tent. This does present an opportunity for insects and wind driven rain getting into the tent though.
              2. There is no mesh vent in the roof. Just breath able nylon.

No,but the fly overhangs the top of the windows and doors so they can be opened a few inches even if it's raining. Also, each door is vented at the bottom for good cross ventilation in hot weather.
