The Timberline SQ Outfitter 4 tent from Eureka sleeps 4 and is a classic tent updated with the latest in frame technology. The Timberline series has been famous for years as the Scout's tent of choice, Why? Because of ease of set up, durability and reliability. Well Eureka just made it better with a stronger and easier to set up aluminum frame set. The frame is so tough that Eureka began to compare it to the strength and durability of the giant Sequoia tree and the name stuck (SQ). A stronger, thicker ridge pole and the SQ frame's spreader pole not only increase overall frame strength but adds more usable square footage to the interior of the tent. Improved ventilation with the addition of 2 generous roof vents mean long humid tent nights will be much more comfortable than in the past. In addition Eureka has lengthened the side of the fly for even more coverage and added vestibule wings to the front of the tent to protect the door from weather. Some of the good old parts remain like the use of RipStop materials for strength and worry free use. This is a classic tent and it just got better.

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ Outfitter 4 Tent: Everything about the tent is great, except for the fly design. The expansion bar that opens up the middle of the tent almost seems like it is too long. I can't even get both the pockets on the fly to fit over it for fear of tearing the fly. I need to call the manuf. and ask them to help solve this.

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ Outfitter 4 Tent: Can't tell if it's waterproof yet. It was only 3% humidity when I used it for the first time! Withstood the desert wind, though. Seems like a lighter weight nylon than the Timberlines (3)I've had before. So it was pretty rumpled coming out of the box/bag. I've read comments on how it's difficult to install the cross piece. I didn't think so.

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ Outfitter 4 Tent: as a owner for many years of a timberline outfitter i decided it was time to replace the gear with the same tent.i should have been suspicious with the s.q.designation..this new design was clearly made by people that do not camp in the real world..its like they were determined to make a dome out of a a frame design with the spreader bar.just a place for snow to collect on top of the fly.extra seams on top to eventually leak.cheap plastic buckles to attach the fly..we know what will happen to them..very disapointed in eureka..

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ Outfitter 4 Tent: As a person who owns 30 Timberline Outfitters, most purchased from Campmor, I know about these tents. I was very upset when I realized how poorly the new design for an OUtfitter 4 was. Old Outfitters used bungee type rope to hold the rainfly to stakes. String is used now. The plastic clips that hold the rainfly to the tent won't last two summmer. The aluminum bar that spreads the tent and rainfly is easily lost and bent.

Cons Best Uses Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ Outfitter 4 Tent: We used the regular four man Timberline for many many years and it held up well under some very adverse conditions. So when it came time to purchase another tent we went with what had worked but took this more robust "upgrade". Can't say much about its build just yet because we've only used it one time. But it seems to be just as well made as its little cousin. We like it so far. It does seem to give you more room than the regular four man Timberline.

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ Outfitter 4 Tent: Ok for average use, canoeing and camping, but isn't as easy to set up as the earlier version which I had for years and loved.

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ Outfitter 4 Tent: All in all, a good product. Vastly superior to the older version of the tent. Still, after spending 4 - 8 weeks in the elements and under the sun its waterproofing started to wear, and the zippers on about 15% of the tents broke in some way.
