The Eureka Copper Canyon 1610 is a 6 person 2 room Cabin Style tent/screenroom that provides great weather and bug protection and at the same time is roomy and spacious. The 10'x8 foot front (floorless) screenroom features an inverted 'T' style door with storm flaps and an overhead brim to afford weather protection. A sod cloth on the outer perimeter of the screened portion keeps bugs from crawling inside. The 10'x8' sleeping room has an inner door to the screenroom and outer door for a more private entrance. This tent features a freestanding Hybrid steel and fiberglass frame. The tent has 7 large windows and a mesh roof for excellent ventilation. The windows are backed by waterproof Storm Flaps and can be closed as needed. The cabin style has straighter, near vertical walls that allow for more interior space and comfort. The 1610 has the same space as a comparable 18x12 tent. The large 'D' doors are easy to use and features large windows. The Storm Shield fly, multi coated walls and bathtub floor offer superior weather protection and brings confidence and peace of mind that only comes with a Eureka tent.

  • Sleeps 6
  • Main fly and floor seams are factory taped for weather protection
  • Freestanding design is easy to set up
  • Bathtub floor keeps seams taut and high off the ground for superior protection
  • Straight Walled Cabin style tent provides more usable space than most other domes
  • 2 Rooms - combination (floorless) screenroom and sleeping area
  • Screen Room does not have a floor, but it has a perimeter sod cloth to keep bugs away
  • Multi-coated polyester fly covers non-closable mesh roof
  • Screenroom has lighting system hang loops
  • Polyester fly won't stretch and resists UV damage better than nylon
  • Hybrid fiberglass/steel frame is sturdy and reliable
  • Fast Clip and sleeve assembly is easy to set up and take down
  • Poles attach to tent body via pin and ring for fast and easy set up
  • Gear loft/organizer included for overhead storage and convenience
  • 1 small Mesh Gear Storage pocket included

Comments about 2011 Eureka Copper Canyon 1610 - 6 Person Cabin Style Tent/Screenroom:

Initially the tent is great. Rained very heavy the 3rd night out and the tent itself did not leak 1 drop BUT the fly design is AWFUL. The fly collected rain on both ends of the fly where it "should" drain off - about 1 gallon each side and in the morning when we got up the fly was sagging awful being supported by the tent itself. I had called Eureka about fly concerns after we set up in the back yard for a test run. I was told by the Eureka rep that the person I needed to talk to about the issue was "gone for the day" and wouldcvall me back in 1 work day - I never received a callback. Be aware of lack of support from Eureka as you are on your own. Oh yes,did I mention, the Eureka rep told me to report it to Campmor (Get this -Eureka's design flaw! boy you telk about passing the buck).

The tent itself is all the Eureka name is built on - excellent product, but the fly and particularly Eureka support gets a rating of 0 - it would be lower if I could rate it there. I will send photo's of the fly collecting water the next time we get rain so you can see for yourself.

Eureks, shame on you - I guess your name means nothing.

Too Big and Too Heavy

Comments about 2011 Eureka Copper Canyon 1610 - 6 Person Cabin Style Tent/Screenroom:

The tent was very big and roomy. We had our 2 kids (3 and 6) on air mattresses in the "floored" room and wife and I on a queen air mattress in the "unfloored" room. I could stand up straight in the tent (I am 6 ft). We followed the advice of the previous reviews and had a full groundcloth under entire tent and then another for the unfloored room. It worked ok but not great. Decided that the tent would be much better if both rooms were fully floored. Also felt there should have been more pockets, storage areas for stuff.

It was also very heavy!!! I know all the specs said it was 40+ pounds... but it did not really click with me how much that was until I had to lug it out to the car, etc. The poles could have used a lighter wt material.

It was also hard to find a tent site with a large enough flat spot for a 16 x 10 ft footprint.

We decided this tent was not for us and are returning it.

Comments about 2011 Eureka Copper Canyon 1610 - 6 Person Cabin Style Tent/Screenroom:

This tent is enormous and heavy! It would not fit into about half of the tenting campsites we checked out. That being said, once it is up, it is very roomy and comftrable. Withstood rain and mosquito swarms quite handily.

Great Temt for longer periods of camping in one spot. Easy to set up, I had practiced in my back yard prior to leaving for a week of fishing and staying in a Vt. State Park.
My only difficulty was when it rained, the rods that hold out the ends of the tent that measure 10'.
      No other difficulties found.

We have had two of these up for about a week. They are airy, lightweight, but held up under rain and wind last night. So far, we like them. I am hoping they will hold up for a while.
We like the separate front area from the more enclosed sleeping area.

Very good family tent. We have only used it for one week in the summer so far. I've camped for 50 years. 3" of hard rain one night resulted in a small puddle in the floored side -- not certain where it came from (driven under the fly, wall or through the seams). We did not seam seal it prior to our first trip. It did stand up well in the wind. Height and roominess is a welcome luxury in a fixed camp.

        1. Does the screen room have rain curtains?
        2. Is the screen room large and high enough to use a Coleman stove on a picnic table? Can you cook inside the screened porch?

          A:

The screen room does have storm flaps on all openings. You can cook on a picnic table being careful not to allow stove to be too close to walls. Always make sure to leave storm flaps partially open to allow to properly ventilate the screen room while cooking inside.
