Comments about Eureka Cimarron 15 Degree Therma Shield Mummy Sleeping Bag - Regular: I bought 2 of these bags 18 months ago for my sons who are Scouts to use on outings. The bags pack reasonable well (for the price you pay) and stay warm enough. One of my son's needed it right away for Scout Winter camp. The temps were just below freezing with snow on the ground. I thought he'd be fine since the bag is rated for 15 degrees. WRONG! He froze the first night and ended up using an extra bag someone else had brought so he could sleep warm. The bag does well as long as the temps stay above 35 degrees. My guys are tall (6' and 5'9") and the bags do a good job of accommodating their height. They are comfy. One of my sons took the bag with him to Philmont and it did great. However, after 18 months of regular use, the zipper pull busted on one of the bags! Since it was needed for an outing and there was no time to shop around for another bag, I went to a local sewing shop and purchased a repair kit. Hopefully this will hold up.

Comments about Eureka Cimarron 15 Degree Therma Shield Mummy Sleeping Bag - Regular: Purchased this for a local boy scout starting out. Im involved professionally in the outdoor recreation industry and have access to much "bigger names" and use them. But for this use, at this price nothing was even close in terms of qualifty and features.

Comments about Eureka Cimarron 15 Degree Therma Shield Mummy Sleeping Bag - Regular: The bag packs into a nice little compression bag. Not the smallest or highest quality out there, but its the most affordable way to go.

Comments about Eureka Cimarron 15 Degree Therma Shield Mummy Sleeping Bag - Regular: Needed a bag for a couple of cold weather backpacking trips and didn't want to spend a lot of money so I took a chance with this. It packs HUGE, so be sure to buy a compression bag (one came with it, but one the straps broke the first time I pulled). Even in a compression bag, it literally filled up my backpack. On the trips I took, the temperatures got below freezing...around 25 degrees. The bag started off snug and cozy but started getting a little chilly in the middle of the night. The bag is really roomy...I'm 5'7" and 170 and had tons of room to spare (I really like that). The bag would be good for car camping, but it is not a backpacking bag. I'll pony up more money next time.

Comments about Eureka Cimarron 15 Degree Therma Shield Mummy Sleeping Bag - Regular: This sleeping bag surprised me in a good way. I'm used to North Face sleeping bags and for the money I spent, I wasn't expecting to be so pleased with this bag. It is super comfy and warm. There is extra insulation around the whole foot area and the zipper goes from the top to the knees so there are no air leaks at the foot area. This bag is super roomy- too roomy for backpacking. I wondered if they accidentally sent me a "tall" size bag because it is so long, but that's the way it is. It's great for camping where one isn't stuffing, because it is bulky. It came with a stuff sack but once I pried it out of the stuff sack, there is no way to get it back in. Just the same, for car camping it's luxurious.

Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about Eureka Cimarron 15 Degree Therma Shield Mummy Sleeping Bag - Regular: The bag was rated at 84L x 32w(shoulder) x 20w (feet). The actual dimensions were about 90 long, 28 at the shoulders, and you didn't get to 20 inches wide until you were about at the waist. My 16 year old son got inside and we could barely even zip it up. I thought at first they may have shipped a "Long" instead, but the product tag showed the correct "regular" dimensions. Don't know if all Eureka's run this small, but we've returned it and are going with something else.

Comments about Eureka Cimarron 15 Degree Therma Shield Mummy Sleeping Bag - Regular: Really liked this bag the first time I used it. Despite being bulky within the backpack it was a comfortable bag to sleep in ...and the price was right. The problem came during the second camping trip, a winter mountain hike in the snow; the zipper broke when closing the bag for the night (it just disintegrated). This made for a very, very cold night as sleeping bags work by trapping the warmth your body generates. (Note to self: safety pins do not weight much + can be useful around a campsite.)The bag is also a little tight around the hips and shoulders, even for a mummy bag. For reference, I am 5'9" and weight 165# and found it a little cramped. The plus for this bag is that it is warm and comfortable. If they made a zipper that worked - and that I could feel that I could rely upon - then I'd be happy to have this bag.[...]
