Comments about Eureka Apex 2 XT - Tent:

I wanted a new backpacking tent, but my budget (as always) was limited. I'm very happy with the Apex 2 XT. My only mild complaint is that it's not quite as light as I'd like; but it's certainly not too heavy, and a very good piece of kit for the price.

Comments about Eureka Apex 2 XT - Tent:

Purchased this tent 1991 when my firts son started Scouts. Used it once a month for the nest 6 years. Never leaked, I've had wind flex the tent till if laid on me, and it popped right back up, sleep on 6 in of snow and it has never let me down. It is the tent the kids want when we family camped and they were too big the sleet with Mom & Dad. It has set in storage for the last coupe of years. My youngest sons college rock climbing club is going to Red Rock Canon in Nevada over Christmas break and this is the tent he wants to take. Still looks great after 13 year and maybe a hundred nights out. For the price you can not find a better tent.

Comments about Eureka Apex 2 XT - Tent:

I took this tent on a couple of backpack trips and it performed perfectly. I did not have any problems or issues with it. But we were not in any adverse weather conditions such as high wind, hard rain, or snow. But I think the tent is perfect for the casual backpacker or car camper. It is plenty big enough for two adults. I really like being able to store my gear in the vestibule next to me where I can easily access it. The only change I would make to this tent is to make the poles out of aluminum instead of fiberglass. It would be a little more expensive but would probably last longer. But overall I am very satisfied with this tent!

Comments about Eureka Apex 2 XT - Tent:

This is a well constructed tent with good warranty that is perfect for two average size adults. We use it for car camping, it is easy to setup and seems sturdy. Lots of headroom for an average size adult, and two doors is an excellent feature - a key reason we bought this tent. A bit heavy for backpacking; it would be feasible, but not ideal.

Spent a week/six nights total in the rain day and night. We had nine inches of rain and the tent held up nicely. I did however cover it with a tarp suspended above it for added protection and dug a trench around it. I did not have to move the tent around locations as in hiking. I like the tent and it is just the right size for 6ft man and gear to be inside all at one time.
