Good honest travel pack

Cons

  • Logo Stands Out Too Much

  • Nylon Snap Broken

Best Uses

Comments about Outdoor Products Campmor Essential Carry-On:

Great value, well constructed even though the nylon swivel snap was broken. Used a black magic marker to darken the logo. It is now grayish, couldn't do anything about the size of the logo, if it had been smaller logo, I would have just left it alone. I even considered using an iron or heat gun to remove it. The bag itself I am happy with the price paid, the utility of the bag. I would buy another in the future.

Comments about Outdoor Products Campmor Essential Carry-On:

Bought the bag for a recent 5 day trip to use as a carry on for flight. Love that the bag is lightweight but still able to fit a lot of stuff. I also liked the two different carrying options. The bag has no structure and is flimsy, although that can be a plus if you're the type that likes to overpack and stuff your bags. I was looking at other similar bags that were $150+, but couldn't justify the purchase since I'm not a frequent traveler. Even if this bag breaks after a couple years, I can buy four more for the price of one of the more expensive bags. For this price, it's hard to beat this product in terms of value and usability.

Comments about Outdoor Products Campmor Essential Carry-On:

I bought 2 of these bags in preparation for a cruise, as I will have to carry my bag around for a bit at the beginning and I did not want to have lug around a rolling carry-on on a ship. I have not yet used it on the cruise, but we recently used them as carry-ons for a flight. They worked fantastically. I used cubes for my clothes to help give the bag some shape. Many pockets available for extras, although they do increase the width of the bag (not sure if fully used if it would fit in overhead compartment).

I do not like the large logo and will probably cover it up.

I used the bag mostly with the shoulder strap, although I have some concerns about the bag pulling at the points where the strap connects. Husband held it by the handles. Hope that the bag will not rip at any seams. Have not tried it as a backpack yet, but like the availability to do so.

As with most unstructured bags, if it was not reasonably full, it would have kind of caved in when using it with the shoulder strap.

In one of the exterior pockets, the zipper kept getting a bit stuck on the inside lining to separate the smaller compartments inside. I do have concerns that the lining will rip unless I am careful with the zipper.

The bag was overall comfortable to carry and I expect that it will fit my needs excellently on a cruise and in the future. With this bag, I can't imagine using my rolling carry-on again.

With the price, I could not go wrong.

Comments about Outdoor Products Campmor Essential Carry-On:

This bag was recommended on a number of travel sites. I wanted something lightweight that would work as a carry-on but wasn't too expensive. This fit the bill in all aspects. I've used it several times and have found it better than I expected for several reasons.

                        (1) Sometimes I want to check my bag one way and carry it on for the return home (it depends how fast I will have to wait in baggage claim and how much I am carrying). This bag is small enough to stow on the plane but also durable enough that I don't worry about checking it.

                        (2) I used the backpack straps for the first time last week and they work very well. They are comfortable and it is actually much easier to handle the bag this way than using the shoulder strap. Having the weight on your back is better than having the weight on your shoulder. Other lightweight bags also have backpack straps but they often scrimp on the padding to save on weight so they aren't very comfortable. In contrast, this Campmor bag actually more comfortable as a backpack than some of my traditional backpacks/rucksacks.

Comments about Outdoor Products Campmor Essential Carry-On:

This is a great nicely constructed bag for the price. It is one of the lightest bags out there that is carry on size for US and foreign airlines, soft sided, and has back straps for carrying it a few blocks. If you stuff it full, it can be over "legal limits!" I recommend using packing cubes to keep stuff neat. I used children's fabric-sided lunch boxes for small packing cubes!

While the Campmor 2" tall logo is gaudy, I will cover it with a adhesive fabric cloth patch as others have mentioned. No big deal.

It is lighter than my wheeled and non-wheeled bags from well known makers, and more suited for my one carry on flying than those far more expensive. If you wish to travel with just a carry on and a "personal item" and not check baggage, or be "gate checked" as often as the rollaboards can be when the overhead bins are full, this is for you.

The Outdoor Products Campmor Essential Carry-On is made with urethane coated material, however the seams and the zipper would leak water so it is water resistant not waterproof.

One of the reviewers had a great suggestion - to put reflective tape over the logo. Or maybe thick black tape, like electrical tape? It's hilarious that they put this gigantic logo on the bag. It looks so stupid, when a discreet little logo would have been fine. Oh well. Anyway, try taping it up.

Hi there, I was wondering if the Campmor Essential Carry-On came with the big bright (not so pretty) white logo of "Campmor" on front. I've come across images online with a more discrete looking logo in the bottom right corner, so I'm not sure how this bag is going to look like. If possible, I'd like the prettier more discrete logo.
