The Merino ¼ Sock Cushion from Darn Tough is made in Vermont to be extremely durable. The high thread count provides for high density cushioning on foot bottom. Custom shrink treated Merino wool stands up to wash after wash. Ribbing above the ankle ensures a proper, no sag fit. Reinforced heel and toe resist wear. Elastic support around the arch for a bunch free fit. Ring toe construction for a comfortable invisible seam.

These are the best I have found and would not consider any other brands. After all, I have tried most at one time or another and have spent a small fortune on probably 50 pair of "hiking" socks before finding the best.

I was sorry I didn't buy more for years when I accidentally found out how to get them(they are not available in Canada other than online). They put other socks to shame.
