They do run slightly small, so I would definitely look into a size smaller than usual. Wife has a pair already so I knew what to order. Perfect length right to the middle of the thigh. Lightweight but sturdy material, so great for hikes in hot weather!

There was some variation in belt sizes in the three I got on and offline. all of them were large enough. One buckle was a little loose. If you are on the edge of medium and large, base your choice on your waist size. The waist runs a little large..which worked well for me. The hips are comfortably loose for me. I probably could have got away with the medium...but I like to have ease of movement when I kayak. They hold up well for kayaking, and look casually stylish as well. LOVE these pants!
