According to Columbia, there is no temperature ratings on their jackets or parkas. The Omin Heat insulation does provide more warmth and with the liner the temperature can be better regulated. A parka is recommended over a jacket for much colder conditions.Answered on 9/14/2011 by Anonymous

Columbia Sportswear Men's 3-in-1 Radio Contrast Interchange Parka is water resistant not water proof. This can be a liability if you are in a snow storm for a long time. The jacket would get wet in long exposure to snow. A better choice is the Columbia Sportswear Men's 3-in-1 Bugaboo Interchange Parka
