Best Uses Comments about Coldpruf Men's Platinum Midweight Underwear Pants: UPDATE: After wearing the top and bottoms for a few weeks and washing them ONLY TWICE, I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that these are complete junk. The stitching is already coming apart, the material has completely worn through just below the collar and the pilling is really bad. I originally said these were comfortable, but that opinion was based on a quick try-on and has definitely changed now that I've actually worn them. They itch like crazy, especially along the supposedly flat-lock stitching, and the collar is so abrasive it rubs my skin raw. I only wish I had listened to my gut and returned these immediately. Now I'm out [$]. DO NOT BUY!

Comments about Coldpruf Men's Platinum Midweight Underwear Pants: These LJs were bought to replace an older set of double layer/wool blend LJs. They have a slightly lower percentage of wool in the outer layer. They also use new (to me) "Coldpruf" synthetic vs. "thermax" in the old set. The fit is ok, but looser in the knees and seat than the old set and a bit longer. The waist, thighs and calves are a good fit. I prefer a snug fit so they can be used as an inner layer, but these will do fine under fleece if not woolens for extra warmth. They wash well and so far don't carry odors. In general appearance they seem well constructed and feel soft. They are not bulky but have a good thickness. I usually have trouble with the waistband eventually, but I'll have to wait longer to see how they hold up. For active wear in cold weather, I prefer a snug fit, but these alone will do for most wear except very cold temperatures.
