    While not rated for outside heat temperature, is this item able to be used inside of a cook pot to elevated another pot or an oven bag in a double-boiler situation?

    Looking at options to bake with oven bags on backpacking trips.

      A:

      As long as the diameter of the pot you are going to set the trivet in is greater than 8.5 in this should work. The trivet steel so would easily work at baking temperatures.

    can this item be used to elevate a 10" dutch oven so charcoal can be placed underneath? Will the trivet take the heat of the charcoal?

      The Camp Chef Dutch Oven Trivet is not a cooking grid, so using it has a cooking surface for a dutch oven would probably damage the trivet. Instead use Rome Grate Only for Heavy Duty Grid
