Comments about Asolo Men's TPS 535 Mid Weight Hiking Boot: I had the original version of these, they lasted 12 years! As a weekend and occasional week long backpacker, I did over 500 miles with these. My feet never hurt half as much as with other brands. What finally did them in was the 3rd year of abusing them as construction boots. Even then I considered getting them re-soled, as the uppers were still in good shape. Once they are broken in, they fit like a glove and last forever! I will not have another brand on my feet.

Comments about Asolo Men's TPS 535 Mid Weight Hiking Boot: I definitely will buy this boot again - Asolo, please don't change anything about this boot! I have another pair of Asolos, too, but they were just too worn to take on another long backpacking trip so I had to invest in another pair. I won't buy any other brand but Asolo - keep up the great work!

Comments about Asolo Men's TPS 535 Mid Weight Hiking Boot: As good as it gets. This is my second pair - my first wore out after about 3.5 years with no treating of the leather and hiking over fairly rough terrain about 50% of the time. I'm satisfied, they're an everyday work boot for me that offers comfort and dependability for traversing rough terrain on short hikes or backcountry backpacking. Couldn't expect more.

Comments about Asolo Men's TPS 535 Mid Weight Hiking Boot: I have had Asolos as my last three pair of work boots and I never had a problem. I hike all day long at times in challenging terrain. My feet and body get abused but I'm never stiff or sore because of my footwear. If you're looking for a pair of boots that will offer durability, comfort, and perform reliably get these boots!

Comments about Asolo Men's TPS 535 Mid Weight Hiking Boot: I got these to replace my 11 year old pair of Asolo's. I recently had a stress fracture in my foot and received an ortho boot. Whatever benefit my foot was getting was more than offset by the pain in my hips and knees. I figured my Asolo's would provide adequate support so I pulled them out of the garage where they've been shuffled for the past 7 to 8 years. So after 4 years or so of hard use I did what may be hardest on boots, leave them in a garage where they are subjected to dust, dirt, summer 90+ and winter 10's. I put a little mink oil on them and they still fit well, felt great and had no issues. After considering I buy 2 to 3 pair of work shoes a year at $80/each I thought why the hell not buy a newer pair of these since they have lasted longer than anything else I own? So here I am. My old boots were subjected to what they were made for; these will probably live a much gentler life but it's good to know they'll be around for a long time.

Comments about Asolo Men's TPS 535 Mid Weight Hiking Boot: I replaced my old Asolo AFX 535's with the TPS 535 and was amazed at how well they fit right out of the box. They are very comfortable and break in was minimal. They fit true to size and have plenty of room in the toe box. Asolo makes a great boot and they are made in Romania. I am looking forward to many miles on the trail with these boots.

Q:
ordering new gear to continue section hike of AT - this Spring I slipped on wet rocks and narrowly escaped serious injury - how are these boots in wet slippery conditions? Thanks.1 answer
A:
Has a Vibram outersole, which tends to be gripper than most manufacturer's outersoles. Always exercise caution, no outersole is slip proof.Q:
I have been doing a lot of research to find a boot that is comfortable and that will last a long time. Many reviewers of these boots say they are on their 3rd or 4th pair of these. This tells me either they are hiking 20 miles every day in these or they simply do not last that long. How many miles should I expect to get out of these boots before they fall apart?1 answer
A:
Actually what you are seeing is that reviewers like this boot and this boot have been in the Asolo line for a long time. So these reviewers are coming back to purchase more of these. Mileage depends on terrain. Very rocky terrain you will get less mileage out of, though I would say you can expect hundreds of miles on a sole if taken care of.Q:
what country are these boots made in ?1 answer
A:
The Asolo Mens TPS 535 Mid Weight Hiking Boot is made in Romania.Q:
Is there a width option for the TPS 535? I have wide feet and see that the 520 has the wide option but don't see it for this one. I was hoping to save the cash on this model and forego the goretex but I am worried it is not wide enough for my EE foot.1 answer
A:
The TPS Mid Weight boot is a medium D width.Q:
Are Asolo's TPS 535 LTH.V waterproof? Asolo's site lists this boot and the 520 as being water resistant and describes the 535 as the "520s alter-ego without the Gore-Tex." What is the difference between water resistant and waterproof?1 answer
A:
A goretex boot can actually be submerged in water without leaking. A water resistant boot will not hold up to full immersion in the water. Treating them with Snowseal will make them almost entirely waterproof.
